Listed in the Michelin Guide Korea, Sung Sim Dang is a successful bakery cafe based in Daejeon, a major city of Korea. Usually crowded with customers, some from other cities, who wait in lines for the bakery’s bestseller to come out. Fried soboro, which has been the bakery’s best-selling item for 30 years, is made by deep-frying soboro buns filled with sweetened red bean paste. Though it enjoys nationwide popularity, Sung Sim Dang refuses branching or franchising in other cities, making it a landmark of Daejeon.
