Naming of Gimbap

Gimbap is usually named after the main ingredients of the filling. Vegetable gimbap means there will be no meat product in the filling, while sausage gimbap means a whole frankfurter will be inside the roll, in addition to the basic ingredients such as yellow pickled radish and egg strips. When gimbap is fried with egg coating, it is just called egg-coated gimbap, or gyeranmari gimbap in Korean, regardless of what ingredients the filling has.
